The 黑料网 Raymond Campus chapter of Phi Theta Kappa won top honors by being named Most Distinguished Chapter in the Mississippi/Louisiana region in March. The chapter also placed number nine in the nation out of 1,350 chapters this April at the Phi Theta Kappa International Convention in Orlando, Fla.

Phi Theta Kappa, the largest honor society in higher education, focuses activities on the hallmarks of scholarship, leadership, and service.聽 Students who have a 3.5 cumulative GPA on at least 12 college-transfer credits at Hinds are eligible to join.聽 Each Hinds campus has its own PTK chapter.

On Aug. 15 and 16, advisors and student officers聽of the Raymond Campus Gamma Lambda chapter completed an overnight strategic planning retreat at Wilsonwood Lodge in Vicksburg. 聽Advisors who direct this group include, (seated) Dr. Johannah Williams of Byram, Physical Sciences chair; Amber King of Raymond, English instructor; Debbie McCollum of Clinton, Honors Institute dean; Dr. Ben Cloyd of Jackson, Honors Program director/ history instructor; and, (not pictured) Jack Hite of Raymond, academic counselor.
